Hanoi, encircle by Red River and its tributaries,
was chosen to be the capital of Vietnam in 1010 AD
and firstly named Thang Long (City of the Soaring
Dragon). The city is the mirror of Vietnam national
history with its one thousand years of history and
French colonial architecture quarter and Hanoi Old
Quarter which consists of narrow streets named and
after the commodities once being sold there such as
Silk street, Paper street, Shoes street.
Hanoi is famous for its numerous ancient pagodas and
temples like the Literature temple - the first
university in Vietnam, the Quan Thanh, the Tran Quoc
pagoda, the Quan Su and most of all the Hanoian are
